On the afternoon of December 4, Le Jiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Head of the Publicity Department, paid a visit to Luzhi Town to conduct a field inspection of cultural and tourism initiatives. He was accompanied by Wu Jingyu, Secretary of the Luzhi Town Party Committee, and Chen Julin, a member of the Town Party Committee and Deputy Mayor, among other officials.

Recently, Dr. Shen Naizhi, a French‑Chinese physician, together with six descendants of the Shen family from Germany, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, visited Luzhi Town to trace their roots. They were accompanied by Mei Jianqin and Gu Minjuan, deputy directors of the Foreign Affairs Office of Wuzhong District, as well as Yang Sanyuan, director of the CPPCC Working Committee of Luzhi Town.

On the morning of October 21, the 2014 training workshop titled “Contemporary Transmission of Traditional Festivals—Happy Spring Festival,” organized by the UNESCO International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region, paid a visit to Luzhi for observation and training. More than 40 guests from various countries gained first-hand insight into Luzhi’s rich local culture.

On September 13, Wang Zhizhen, Vice Chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducted a fact-finding visit to guide the economic and social development of Luzhi. Relevant leaders from the city, district, and town accompanied the delegation. Academician Wang and his team inspected the Shui Baxian Science Exhibition Hall and the Shui Baxian Ecological Culture Park at Chenghu Agricultural Park, toured the ancient town of Luzhi, and visited Jiangsu Luzhi Middle School. They also carried out an in-depth study of Luzhi’s developments in ecological agriculture, tourism and culture, and education.
