To thoroughly implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Rule of Law, consolidate and expand the achievements of thematic education, and further enhance the timeliness and effectiveness of Party‑discipline education, on the afternoon of May 14, Hu Meizhen, Secretary of the Party Branch of Luzhi Tourism Company, led a group of branch members, prospective Party members, and active applicants for Party membership to Hubang Village’s Shuibaxian Integrity Pavilion to participate in a Party‑discipline education session and a lecture on the rule of law.
This event featured a lecture by Professor Xin Jun of the Suzhou Municipal Party School. Drawing on real-world contexts, Professor Xin provided an in-depth analysis of the Civil Code and addressed key legal questions of public interest, such as whether the portion of mortgage payments made by the wife after marriage—when the commercial property was purchased by the husband before marriage—should be reimbursed upon divorce, and how to handle properties that have remained unoccupied and vacant since handover. With clear, accessible language and a practical, law‑focused approach, Professor Xin offered detailed explanations and analyses, supported by vivid case studies, concrete data, and expert insights. The interactive Q&A session was lively and engaging, with participants expressing that they had gained substantial knowledge and a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of the topic—enhancing both their expertise and their legal awareness.
Through the organization of this event, the Civil Code has been more effectively brought into villages and communities, providing residents with a platform for learning and exchange, fostering a positive learning environment, and playing an active role in advancing related fields and disseminating knowledge. It has also helped participants develop sound legal thinking and a strong awareness of the rule of law. Following the event, the Hubang Village Committee presented participants with the textbook “Family, Country, and the World,” thereby actively promoting the building of family values, education, and traditions in the new era.
