Luzhi Town Successfully Hosted the National Lianxiang Dance Invitational Competition, “Five-Colored Lianxiang • Luzhi Soars”

On June 8, the “Five‑Color Lianxiang: Luzhi Soars” National Lianxiang Dance Invitational Competition was solemnly held at the Jiangnan Cultural Park in Luzhi Town. The event was supported by the China Dancers Association and hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Dancers Association, the Suzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Wuzhong District Bureau of Culture and Sports, and the People’s Government of Luzhi Town, with co‑organization by the Suzhou Dancers Association and the Luzhi Town Center for Culture and Sports.

The Counselor’s Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government conducted a field study in Luzhi Town to assess the status of protecting this renowned historical and cultural town.

Recently, the Suzhou Municipal Planning Bureau, in collaboration with the Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, the Safety Supervision Bureau, the Cultural Relics Bureau, the Fire Brigade, and the Wuzhong District Planning Sub‑Bureau, conducted a comprehensive inspection of disaster‑prevention measures in the Luzhi Ancient Town area. Wu Qiurong, a member of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the Town Federation of Trade Unions, and Director of the Ancient Town Management Committee, along with Zhu Xuexin, Vice Chairman of the Town People’s Congress, accompanied the inspection, together with heads of the Ancient Town Management Committee, the Village Construction Office, the Safety Supervision Office, the Fire Station, and other relevant departments.

In accordance with the town’s overall schedule for the education and practice campaign, on the afternoon of March 6, Luzhi Town convened a study session of the Party Committee’s central group. Guo Xuewen, Vice President of the Suzhou Municipal Party School, was invited to deliver a special lecture titled “An Interpretation of the Spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.” More than 200 participants attended, including members of the town’s four leading groups, principal and deputy section-level officials, heads of government departments and municipally‑directly affiliated units, secretaries, directors, discipline inspection committee members, organization committee members, and publicity committee members of villages (communities), as well as all members of the town’s education and practice campaign guidance team and its office. The meeting was chaired by Ju Hairong, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee.

More than 200 participants attended, including members of the town’s leading team, principal and deputy section chiefs, retired cadres, heads of Party organizations at all levels, selected deputies to the People’s Congress and members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, as well as representatives of Party members and the general public. Yu Xingnan, Secretary of the District Party Committee; Shen Jianhua, former Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC and head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Supervision Group; and all members of the District Party Committee’s Third Supervision Group also attended the meeting.
