The Counselor’s Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government conducted a field study in Luzhi Town to assess the status of protecting this renowned historical and cultural town.

On the morning of May 27, leaders from the Jiangsu Provincial Government Counselor’s Office and relevant experts visited Luzhi Town to conduct a special research mission on the town’s status as a renowned historical and cultural site. Wu Qiurong, a member of the Luzhi Town Party Committee and Director of the Ancient Town Management Committee, accompanied the delegation.
The research team visited a series of historic and cultural sites in the ancient town, including Baosheng Temple, the Luzhi Water Town Women’s Costume Museum, and the Historical Relics Museum. They also conducted an on-site inspection of the second-phase development project and heard a briefing on the relevant matters from Committee Member Wu Qiurong.
The research team expressed full appreciation for the efforts to protect the historical and cultural heritage of Luzhi Town and put forward recommendations and requirements for how to further advance the preservation of this renowned historic town. Song Linfei, Director of the Counselor’s Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, noted that Luzhi Town’s conservation of ancient buildings and historical relics is commendable, particularly the meticulous restoration of historic bridges such as Hefeng Bridge. He urged the town to redouble its efforts in future work to safeguard its status as a celebrated historic and cultural town and to achieve even greater accomplishments.
