On the afternoon of February 28, Luzhi Town convened a mobilization meeting for the Party’s mass-line education and practice campaign, to launch and deploy the town-wide initiative. More than 200 participants attended, including members of the town’s leading team, principal and deputy section chiefs, retired cadres, heads of Party organizations at all levels, selected deputies to the People’s Congress and members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, as well as representatives of Party members and the general public. Yu Xingnan, Secretary of the District Party Committee; Shen Jianhua, former Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC and head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Supervision Group; and all members of the District Party Committee’s Third Supervision Group also attended the meeting.

To standardize the management of construction sites and fully support the “Beautiful Town” initiative, Luzhi Town convened a town-wide meeting on December 28 to advance the standardized management of both the Beautiful Town project and ongoing construction sites. Attending the meeting were Town Mayor Gu Hongjian, Secretary of the Town Discipline Inspection Commission Wang Min, Deputy Mayors Hong Taosheng and Wang Zonglin, Vice Chairman of the Town People’s Congress Zhu Xuexin, along with representatives from the Chenghu Agricultural Park, the New District Management Committee, the Ancient Town Management Committee, as well as from all administrative villages (communities), enterprises and public institutions, and relevant entities operating construction sites.

On November 2, Luzhi Town convened a town-wide meeting of leading cadres. District Party Secretary Yu Xingnan, Member of the District Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Organization Department Zhang Binghua, and Member of the District Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Resort Area, and Deputy Director of the Management Committee Lu Zhenhua, along with other district-level leaders, attended the meeting. More than 150 cadres from both levels of Luzhi Town participated. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Zhang Binghua, Member of the District Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Organization Department. During the meeting, Minister Zhang Binghua read out the District Party Committee’s decision on adjustments to the principal leading cadres of the Luzhi Town Party Committee, appointing Comrade Wu Jingyu as Secretary of the Luzhi Town Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Chenghu Agricultural Park.

On October 31, the eighth session of the Luxi Town Qingfeng Forum was held at the town’s Cultural and Sports Center. Director Zhou Minsen delivered a lecture on the theme of intangible cultural heritage preservation, titled “Caring for Ethnic and Folk Traditions to Realize the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation,” to young college students from the villages (communities) and government departments.

On the morning of October 18, Luzhi Town hosted a special event for the 2013 Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair. Attending the event were Zhou Yunxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Wuzhong District Party Committee; Yin Zegang, Deputy District Mayor; Feng Jian, Inspector of the People’s Congress; as well as the principal leaders and relevant officials from Luzhi Town’s four leading bodies. More than 20 business representatives from the mold‑tooling, modern commerce, and real estate sectors—including Boker Group, Ola Construction Machinery, and Hejin Real Estate—also took part.

Luzhi Town Receives an Inspection of Its Beautiful Town Construction Efforts.

On the afternoon of October 14, Luzhi Town welcomed an inspection visit by the Suzhou Municipal Leading Group for Beautiful Town Construction. The inspection team comprised officials from departments responsible for urban management, sanitation, and law enforcement, and was led by Yao Along, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Municipal Urban Management Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau. Shen Xuehua, Deputy Director of the Wuzhong District Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, and Wang Zonglin, Deputy Mayor of Luzhi Town Government, accompanied the delegation during the visit.
