On the morning of October 18, Luzhi Town hosted a special event for the 2013 Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair. Attending the event were Zhou Yunxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Wuzhong District Party Committee; Yin Zegang, Deputy District Mayor; Feng Jian, Inspector of the District People’s Congress; as well as the principal leaders and relevant officials from Luzhi Town’s four leading bodies. More than 20 business representatives from mold‑tooling equipment, modern commerce, and real estate sectors—including Bok Group, Oula Construction Machinery, and Hejin Real Estate—also took part. Participants toured three major areas—the Chenghu Agricultural Park, the New Town District, and the Ancient Town District—gaining first-hand insights into the development of industry, urbanization, ecology, and infrastructure. A promotional symposium was then held, during which Luzhi Town outlined its new phase of “second entrepreneurship and transformation‑driven innovation,” emphasizing the scientific development of its three key zones and the strategic clustering and cultivation of five pillar industries: mold‑tooling equipment, modern commerce, tourism services, modern agriculture, and real estate. The town also highlighted its ambitious plan to build six major urban nodes: a Mold Industry Park, the Lusheng Auto Plaza, the Changhong North Road Headquarters Economy Zone, the Fucheng North Road Commercial District, the Fucheng South Road Residential Area, and the Luzhi Ancient Town Scenic Area—each poised for robust growth and promising prospects. During the event, several projects were officially signed and launched, including Luzhi’s flagship commercial shopping plaza, Leibede Precision Molds, and the Ofulang E‑commerce Industrial Park.
In recent years, Luzhi Town has been advancing a new development model that integrates urban and industrial growth with conservation and protection, in line with its latest urban‑industrial master plan. Over the past two years, the town has launched 79 projects with a total investment of RMB 9.9 billion and a combined floor area of 1.86 million square meters. From January to September this year, the town’s public fiscal budget revenue reached RMB 558 million, up 19.1%, and is projected to hit RMB 750 million by year’s end. The town is one of the 16 demonstration sites for beautiful‑town construction across the city.
Zhou Yunxiang, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, delivered a speech, expressing his hope that platforms and events such as the Taihu Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair would help deepen mutual understanding and foster win-win cooperation between government and enterprises. He also urged Luzhi Town to seize the opportunity presented by its designation as a model site for Suzhou’s beautiful‑town initiative, accelerating the integration of industry and urban development while balancing development with conservation, and promoting the coordinated and sustainable growth of the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors.
