In 2010, under the sound leadership of the Party Committee and the local government, and with the care and support of higher-level tourism authorities, Luzhi Tourism Development Company seized the historic opportunity presented by the “Expo Tourism Year.” Guided by the principle of “Serving the Expo, Sharing the Expo,” the company rigorously analyzed the situation, liberated its thinking, and capitalized on emerging opportunities. As part of the campaign themed “The Expo in Shanghai, Tourism in Suzhou,” it successfully fulfilled its tourism‑related reception duties and market‑promotion objectives for the Expo year. In 2010, the Luzhi Ancient Town area welcomed a total of 2.494 million domestic and international visitors, generating ticket revenues of RMB 19.3307 million—up 55.4% and 52.6%, respectively, compared with the same period the previous year—and earning high praise from the Luzhi Town Party Committee, the local government, and the superior tourism authorities.

On February 18, the event “Renowned Jinling Calligraphers and Painters Visit the Luzhi Jiangnan Cultural Park” was solemnly held at the Guanyi Building of the Jiangnan Cultural Park. The two-day program featured a Chinese painting symposium chaired by Professor Zhang Sheng, President of the Oriental National Painting Academy.
