As the Mid-Autumn Festival arrives in full splendor, families reunite, and the entire nation celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival coincides with National Day, marking the first “double‑holiday” long weekend since the easing of pandemic restrictions. The Luzhi Ancient Town scenic area has thus entered a new wave of peak tourism. In response to the sharp surge in visitor numbers, the site has remained unwavering in its commitment to safety, implementing a range of measures to ensure thorough execution and firmly reinforcing its safety‑production safeguards, thereby guaranteeing a safe and stable holiday travel environment.

Ahead of the holiday, the scenic area held a meeting to coordinate preparations for the peak‑season tourism period, meticulously planning visitor services and conducting thorough self‑inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards. At key locations such as the Visitor Center, the Paifang archway, and Lüduan Square, as well as along major thoroughfares, uniform arrangements of fresh flowers and greenery were deployed, with lanterns and colorful banners hung to create a festive atmosphere. A series of themed events titled “Wu You, Wu Lv: The Poetic Luzhi Slow‑Time Festival” was carefully curated, featuring interactive experiences including outdoor Han‑style cultural performances, demonstrations of traditional Han‑era lifestyles and aesthetics, the “Duan Duan Has Courtesy—Fuli Market,” artistic shows, intangible cultural heritage performances, and special ticket discounts, ensuring that visitors can enjoy their time in Luzhi, dine with confidence, and shop to their satisfaction.

During the holiday period, all staff at the scenic area were on duty, and a large number of volunteers were recruited. The requirements of “capacity limits, advance reservations, and staggered peak times” were strictly enforced, with proactive efforts to provide guidance, information, guided tours, sightseeing assistance, and boat‑ride services. Security personnel stepped up crowd‑control measures, established additional mobile patrol posts, assigned dedicated attendants to key areas, and intensified pedestrian‑flow management to prevent overcrowding and potential stampedes. Cleaning crews were bolstered, increasing the frequency of mobile sweeping and waste removal to ensure timely maintenance of waterways. Volunteers reinforced civility‑promoting efforts, reminding visitors to line up in an orderly manner and promptly discouraging and addressing uncivilized behavior. On‑call personnel strengthened their round‑the‑clock presence, intensified patrols and inspections, and enhanced emergency response capabilities. With each team member fulfilling their designated responsibilities, staying on the front lines, and working closely together, the scenic area ensured high‑quality service, orderly market conditions, and a clean environment, striving to create a safe, peaceful, and joyful holiday tourism experience.

During this year’s Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday, the Luzhi Ancient Town scenic area maintained orderly operations and ensured safety and stability. According to statistics, over the eight-day period, the site welcomed a total of 218,400 visitors, generating tourism revenue of RMB 994,000—up 3.40% and 3.08%, respectively, compared with the same period last year—and recovering to 87.60% and 69.40% of 2019 levels, respectively.
