As the Mid-Autumn Festival brings joyous reunions and the nation celebrates its birthday, the Luzhi Ancient Town scenic area has maintained orderly, safe, and stable operations throughout the Mid-Autumn–National Day holiday.
During the holiday period, all staff at the scenic area were on duty, and a large number of volunteers were recruited. The requirements of “capacity limits, advance reservations, and staggered peak times” were strictly enforced, with proactive efforts to provide guidance, information, tours, and boat‑ride services. Security personnel stepped up crowd‑control measures, added mobile patrol posts, assigned dedicated attendants to key areas, and intensified pedestrian flow management to prevent overcrowding and potential stampedes. Cleaning crews were reinforced, increasing the frequency of mobile sweeping and waste removal to ensure timely maintenance of waterways. Volunteers played a vital role in promoting civility, reminding visitors to line up in an orderly manner and promptly discouraging and stopping uncivilized behavior. On‑call personnel strengthened their rounds and inspections, enhancing emergency response capabilities. With each team member fulfilling their responsibilities, staying on the front lines, and working closely together, the scenic area ensured high‑quality service, orderly market conditions, and a clean environment, striving to create a safe, peaceful, and joyful holiday tourism experience.
At the Jiangnan Cultural Park, the Mid-Autumn Poetry Gathering titled “Treading the Moon, Singing with Poetic Charm—Jiangnan in Verse” has been a continuous highlight. Children dressed in traditional scholar’s robes, holding national flags, recited timeless classics such as “May we all be blessed with longevity, though miles apart, we shall still share the beauty of the moon,” fully immersing themselves in the festive spirit. Meanwhile, at the town library, a bamboo‑wicker lantern–making workshop drew numerous residents eager to take part.
On the ancient opera stage, more than ten performances over eight days kept the excitement flowing, while the Luzhi Water Town Women’s Costume Exhibition, the Luzhi Lianxiang Dance, the “Fat-Burning Party” fitness dance, a folk‑style stage show, and acrobatics and magic acts all extended the festive atmosphere through the end of the holiday.
The Fuli Painting Academy of Suzhou hosted an art exhibition featuring works by primary and secondary school students within the Jiangnan Cultural Park, presenting vivid scenes of rural life and production in the water towns of Jiangnan. The brushwork is lively and delicate, the colors are vibrant and childlike, and the overall artistic quality is remarkable.
Within the western courtyard of Baosheng Temple, the melodious strains of the guqin still linger in the air. Many visitors have picked up colorful lianxiang sticks and, under the guidance of instructors, are learning to dance the lianxiang dance. Amid the crisp rhythmic taps and lively cadence, they savor the unique waterside charm that is quintessentially Luzhi.
During the holiday, Luzhi Ancient Town is offering free admission to its scenic area—visitors dressed in traditional water-town women’s attire or hanfu can enter at no charge. This special offer has drawn crowds of tourists, who have gathered in their finest outfits to wander through the charming waterside village. Strolling along the old streets, taking a boat ride, exploring the bustling market, and enjoying live performances, visitors are fully immersed in the joyful, peaceful atmosphere of the festive season, savoring every moment of holiday cheer.
At the market, a dazzling array of “Duan Duan You Li” cultural‑creative products, mouthwatering classic snacks, and delightfully playful games make the holiday even more joyful. Try your hand at ceramic dolls, ring toss, and other amusements—souvenirs in one hand, delicacies in the other—and you’ll head home fully satisfied.
Strolling through the market while taking in the picturesque scenery, boats glide gracefully along the rippling waterways, their oars dipping rhythmically. The lively street scenes on the banks draw passersby to whip out their phones, capturing the vibrant, bustling life of this prosperous era.
