Welcome to Luzhi Ancient Town!

Luzhi

Let’s talk about Chinese language together and “read” Luozhi side by side! The summer season of excitement goes on.

Glide along in a gentle boat beneath ancient bridges, savor the authentic flavors of local homes, and linger in cozy cafés and tea houses, leisurely basking in the literary charm of an afternoon. As night falls, amid the soft glow of colorful lights, the spectacular nighttime show “Jin Ye: Qingdian Luzhi” unfolds, immersing visitors in the enchanting allure of Jiangnan at dusk.

During the May Day holiday, visitors can enjoy a rich and diverse array of cultural and tourism activities at the Luzhi Ancient Town scenic area, with an abundant supply of high-quality offerings and upgraded service standards. These efforts not only enhance the visitor experience but also continually meet the growing demand for cultural and leisure consumption. “Spoken language is speech, written language is literature,” as Mr. Ye Shengtao first articulated the concept of Chinese language education. Coinciding with the 130th anniversary of Mr. Ye’s birth, the ancient town will continue to organize a series of events centered on his educational legacy, showcasing Luzhi’s unique charm as an “educational wetland and cultural oxygen bar” to visitors from across the country.

Ahead of the holiday, Zhu Huaping, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee and Town Mayor, led a team to inspect workplace safety at the Ancient Town Scenic Area. The scenic area convened a meeting to outline holiday‑related tasks, meticulously planning for the influx of tourists. Comprehensive self‑inspections were carried out to identify and address potential hazards. At key locations such as the Visitor Center and Lüduan Square, flowers and greenery were uniformly arranged. In addition, the “Talking About Chinese Language, Seeing Luzhi Through Reading” themed event was thoughtfully designed, featuring interactive activities to enhance visitors’ experiences and foster a joyful, peaceful, and welcoming festive atmosphere.

During the holiday period, all staff at the scenic area were on duty, and a large number of volunteers were recruited. In strict compliance with the requirements of “limited capacity, advance reservations, and staggered peak times,” visitor flow was effectively controlled and managed. Efforts were made to provide high-quality services, including guidance, information, ticket inspection, guided tours, sightseeing, and boat rides. Visitors were actively encouraged to practice civilized tourism and ensure their safety while exploring. Security personnel were reinforced, with increased patrols and inspections to strengthen crowd management and traffic flow, resolutely preventing congestion. Cleaning teams were also bolstered, with more staff assigned to promptly remove waste and increase the frequency of mobile cleaning, thereby fully safeguarding market order and environmental hygiene and offering visitors a clean, comfortable, and pleasant experience.

This holiday, the “Qingdian Luzhi” immersive nighttime tour attraction officially opened. Centered around the Jiangnan Cultural Park, the project leverages cutting-edge domestic digital technologies to create an immersive experience through a blend of light and shadow, 3D projections, and live‑action performances set against real‑world backdrops. The nighttime show, “Jin Ye: Qingdian Luzhi,” draws on Luzhi’s local cultural heritage, distilling iconic cultural IPs such as Yang Huizhi, Lu Guimeng, Ye Shengtao, and the Eight Scenic Spots of Fuli, while integrating a host of innovative, multi‑format offerings. These include uniquely Jiangnan‑style opera and scenic‑themed shows, dining‑and‑performance experiences, Hanfu costume‑change sessions, and traditional‑style photo shoots, all coming together to craft a multi‑layered, three‑dimensional, and deeply immersive cultural journey. Thanks to extensive pre‑event promotion and attractive discounts, the attraction drew large numbers of visitors from surrounding areas eager to be among the first to experience it.

The May Day holiday has come to a perfect close,
One “Lü” is wonderful,
“Straightforwardness” wins the heart’s trust,
Looking forward to meeting you this summer!
