To commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, inspire party members of the branch to carry forward the Party’s glorious traditions, strengthen their ideals and convictions, and set an exemplary and leading example, on July 4, the Luzhi Tourism Party Branch organized a visit to the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall at Maoshan in Jurong for study and reflection.
The façade of the Maoshan New Fourth Army Memorial Hall is modeled after the three peaks of Mount Mao, lending the building a dignified and elegant presence. The exhibition space is divided into five sections: the first recounts how the people of southern Jiangsu rose up to resist the Japanese invaders; the second chronicles the establishment of the Maoshan Anti-Japanese Base Area; the third details the New Fourth Army’s eastward advance and northward march; the fourth highlights the arduous perseverance of the southern Jiangsu anti-Japanese base area; and the fifth celebrates the people of southern Jiangsu’s ultimate victory in the war of resistance. Inside, an abundance of historical documents, photographs, and authentic artifacts vividly reenacts those tumultuous years, delivering a powerful visual impact.
Through visits and study, Party members gained a profound understanding of the history of the New Fourth Army’s establishment of a base area in southern Jiangsu and its struggle against Japanese aggression. All expressed that today’s happy life was won at the cost of countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood, and that the hard-won achievements of the revolution must be cherished all the more. As Communist Party members, we must emulate the spirit of our revolutionary predecessors, keep the Party’s fundamental purpose firmly in mind, fulfill our duties conscientiously, take pride in our work, and consistently exemplify the vanguard role of Party members. In doing so, we will contribute our share to building Luzhi Ancient Town into a renowned cultural‑tourism town and welcome the successful convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
