To mark the 10th anniversary of Wuzhong District’s establishment, on January 26 a CCTV filming crew visited the Luzhi Jiangnan Cultural Park to shoot “Wuzhong District’s Ten Premier Projects.”
Jiangnan Cultural Park is a major project funded by the Luzhi Town Government to preserve the ancient town and expand its tourism offerings. Located on Mianniu Jingbang in Luzhi Town, adjacent to the eastern side of the historic town, the park encompasses 11,000 square meters of historic buildings, 42,500 square meters of landscaped gardens, 13 scenic bridges, and 1,500 meters of waterfront promenades. With a total investment approaching RMB 200 million, the project was officially approved following rigorous review by six of Suzhou’s most distinguished experts in historic architecture. Leveraging the resources of Luzhi Ancient Town and capitalizing on the site’s unique advantages, the park integrates cultural, ecological, and local‑heritage elements, adopting the new tourism theme “A Living Fossil of the Ancient Town, a New Cultural Experience.” It offers a diverse array of thematic experiences, ranging from cultural tours and eco‑adventures to immersive explorations of local charm, visits to the ancient town itself, modern‑style excursions, and leisurely resort getaways.
The film crew shot the Shengtang Fuli Street, pavilions and towers, waterways and small bridges, and a performance of water-town women’s costumes on the ancient stage within the cultural park.
