The Luzhi Scenic Area is strengthening its training program for tour guides.

On January 11, the Luzhi Scenic Area invited Teacher Zhang Yudian from the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Bureau’s Tour Guide Training Center and Manager Hu Mingxia from the Tour Guide Operations Center of Shanghai Airlines Holiday International Travel Agency to provide systematic training for the scenic area’s tour guides.

Drawing on their many years of experience leading tour groups and grounded in the specific context of Luzhi Ancient Town, the two professionals thoroughly explained how to highlight the essence of Luzhi’s Jiangnan water‑town culture during guided tours. They also provided a detailed analysis of various types of tour groups and demonstrated how to skillfully employ a range of techniques to deliver vivid, comprehensive interpretations of the ancient town.

Through this training, the docents have not only broadened their professional knowledge but also further enhanced their service standards. Moving forward, the Luzhi Scenic Area will organize similar training sessions on a regular basis, adopting a “point‑to‑area” approach to comprehensively elevate the overall quality of services at the ancient town of Luzhi, thereby laying a solid foundation for welcoming the 2011 China Cultural Tourism Year and for upgrading the town to 5A‑level status.
