The film “Purple Mansion,” starring Wang Dongcheng and Tong Liya, began filming today on location in Luzhi.

“Purple Mansion” is a suspenseful, thrilling romance film starring Will Pan and Angelababy. The movie has also enlisted the talents of American visual effects maestro Johnny (known for “Batman Begins” and “Troy”), as well as renowned cinematographer Pan Hengsheng (“A Chinese Odyssey,” “Fearless,” “CJ7,” “Ip Man”), who, for the first time ever, takes on the role of director. With a production budget of 25 million yuan, filming recently commenced in Luzhi, Suzhou.
Today, the film crew shot exterior scenes at Xianghua Bridge and Jinli Bridge within the scenic area. Filming at the Luzhi Scenic Area is expected to continue for another three days.
