On April 9, the Luzhi Tourism Development Company convened an expanded meeting attended by department managers and Party members.

On April 9, Luzhi Tourism Company convened an expanded meeting attended by department managers and all Party members to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the speech delivered by Secretary Zhou of the Town Party Committee at the town‑level cadre conference on April 8.

At the outset of the meeting, company leaders presented awards to five “Service Stars” from the first quarter. Among them, Wu Genrong from the Urban Management Team and Li Xia from the Tour Guide Department each delivered enthusiastic remarks. This year, in order to further motivate employees, enhance service quality, and lay a solid foundation for striving to become a national 5A‑level scenic area, the company introduced a “Service Star” recognition program, which has yielded positive results.

Subsequently, General Manager Zhou Xuezhong conveyed the spirit of Secretary Zhou’s address at the town‑level cadre conference and, in light of the company’s current challenges and practical circumstances, laid out key strategic directives.

Secretary Zhou’s address was divided into three parts: the first part focused on thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the important speech delivered by Secretary Yu of the District Party Committee during his inspection visit to our town; the second part emphasized fostering the Luzhi spirit of emancipating the mind, pursuing practical progress, seizing opportunities, and daring to take the lead; and the third part underscored the need to adhere to planning‑driven, science‑based development, advance the construction of the six zones, and make Luzhi’s future even brighter.

General Manager Zhou Xuezhong, drawing on the realities of tourism work, emphasized that we must live up to the care and high expectations of the District Party Committee, the District Government, the Town Party Committee, and the Town Government for Luzhi’s tourism. Guided by the principle of building Luzhi into the eastern bridgehead of Wuzhong District, our company must shoulder heavy responsibilities, take the lead, and steadfastly pursue the “famous tourist town” strategy. By leveraging “high‑quality marketing and meticulous service management,” we will advance the development and construction of the ancient town as a distinctive tourism zone, striving to achieve 5A‑level scenic‑spot status. Specifically, in our day-to-day work, we must focus on three key areas: (1) Uphold planning as the guiding force and vigorously carry out tourism planning for the ancient town. As Luzhi’s tourism shifts toward sightseeing and leisure, at this critical juncture we must formulate a high‑level development strategy for Luzhi Ancient Town, complete the preparation of its 5A‑level plan, and—while continuously enhancing the quality and economic returns of its tourism—deeply integrate its resources, fully align with Wuzhong’s broader tourism framework, and meticulously refine the plan’s positioning, creativity, and spatial layout. We should also make the most of the “two olds”: preserving the cultural heritage bequeathed by our ancestors and safeguarding the ecological assets bestowed by nature; and prioritize two key initiatives—highlighting Luzhi’s unique culture and developing nighttime tourism—so as to continually uncover new growth drivers and accelerate the development of the ancient town’s distinctive tourism zone. (2) Drive progress through projects and diligently implement supporting infrastructure and facilities in the ancient town area. This year, on the one hand, we must, with a strong sense of responsibility, press ahead with already‑approved tourism projects, particularly the Religious Culture Park and the Zhang Sheng Art Museum. On the other hand, we will intensify efforts to attract new projects, aiming to enrich the ancillary offerings of the ancient town and elevate the overall quality of its tourism. We will develop Phase II of the ancient town, constructing guesthouses, bars, and other leisure‑oriented facilities, while further strengthening investment promotion for the Cultural Park, ramping up publicity, and attracting culturally creative ventures to enhance the sophistication and depth of Luzhi’s tourism. (3) Pursue boutique‑style development of the scenic area and work tirelessly to strengthen the brand of Luzhi as “China’s First Water Town.” With the “Six Major Cultures” as its soul, “nighttime tourism” as the focal point of development, and internationalization as its goal, we will advance the construction of the ancient town’s distinctive tourism zone, further improving services, reinforcing management, and penetrating the market, thereby continuously boosting the influence of the Luzhi scenic area.

Finally, General Manager Zhou noted that Secretary Zhou’s speech had bolstered our confidence and morale, expressing his belief that, with our collective efforts, Luzhi’s tourism industry will continue to flourish and that Luzhi’s future will be even brighter. He also called on all Party members and cadres to extend their heartfelt support to the son of urban management officer Chen Jiandong, who is battling leukemia. In response, everyone readily stepped forward, raising a total of 3,800 yuan in donations. Meanwhile, the tourism company, acting through the trade union, presented an additional gesture of care to the Chen Jiandong family.
