Yesterday afternoon, a delegation of leaders and experts from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Construction visited Luzhi to conduct an on-site inspection and provide guidance on the planning and design for the preservation of the ancient town. They were accompanied by Zhou Peigen, Secretary of the Luzhi Town Party Committee; Wu Jinquan, Mayor of the Town Government; and Zhou Xuezhong, General Manager of the tourism company, among others.
Leaders and experts from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Construction visited a series of attractions, including Baosheng Temple, the Ye Shengtao Memorial Hall, the Wang Tao Memorial Hall, and the Xiao Residence. They expressed great admiration for Luzhi’s profound cultural and historical heritage and its well-preserved, outstanding examples of traditional Jiangnan residential architecture. At Baosheng Temple and the Wang Tao Memorial Hall, they also enjoyed captivating performances—featuring Luzhi’s distinctive “Da Lianxiang” dance and traditional Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo music. In conclusion, the officials commended Luzhi Ancient Town’s picturesque environment and its ongoing tourism‑development efforts, while offering specific guidance and recommendations for the next phase of the town’s comprehensive planning and design.
