On May 21, a 12-member delegation from Qingdao’s Tourism Bureau, led by Deputy Director Jiang Xiukai, paid a fact-finding visit to the Luzhi Scenic Area. The delegation was accompanied by Li Bin, Deputy Director of Suzhou’s Tourism Bureau, and Zhou Xuezhong, General Manager of the Luzhi Tourism Company, among others.
The delegation, on the one hand, visited and inspected Luzhi Ancient Town and the Jiangnan Cultural Park, and on the other hand, listened to a work report from the Luzhi Scenic Area—designated as a pilot unit for tourism standardization in Suzhou—on its efforts to develop the “Norms for Hand‑Rowed Boat Facilities and Services in Jiangnan Water‑Town Ancient Towns.” Director Jiang expressed full appreciation for the preservation and sustainable utilization of Luzhi Ancient Town, stating that he would continue to encourage Qingdao travel agencies to organize tour groups to Luzhi and further strengthen cooperation between the two regions.
Director Li pointed out that Luzhi Ancient Town boasts abundant cultural and tourism resources with distinctive characteristics. He emphasized that, through efforts to achieve 5A‑level status and pilot standardization initiatives, the town can further highlight its unique offerings, enhance service quality, and build a signature brand, thereby driving the transformation and upgrading of its tourism industry.
