On January 11, Liu Mingkang, former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, paid a visit to Luzhi to conduct research and provide guidance. He was accompanied by Xu Zhenhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Deputy District Mayor; Lu Zhenhua, Secretary of the Luzhi Town Party Committee; Zhou Xuebin, Town Mayor; Wu Qiurong, Chairman of the Town Federation of Trade Unions; and other district and town leaders.
Chairman Liu conducted an on-site inspection of the construction and management of several scenic areas, including Baosheng Temple, Wansheng Rice Mill, and Jiangnan Cultural Park. He also listened to a report on Luzhi Town’s recent efforts to develop its ancient town and its cultural‑tourism industry. Chairman Liu fully commended Luzhi Town for the achievements it has made in preserving and developing the ancient town, as well as in fostering the cultural‑tourism sector. He emphasized that Luzhi Ancient Town is a precious asset and an irreplaceable, invaluable resource. He urged Wuzhong District and Luzhi Town to further strengthen the protection, management, and development of the ancient town, leveraging local culture to cultivate a distinctive cultural‑tourism industry, expand and enhance this specialized economic sector, and promote the region’s economy with both speed and quality.
