On November 22, the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government convened a citywide mobilization conference for the “Four Major Rectification and Four Major Enhancement” campaign. Following the meeting, Luzhi Town promptly held its own mobilization session, conducted a preliminary assessment and implementation of the town’s tasks under the “Four Major Rectification and Four Major Enhancement” initiative, and laid out plans for the various related efforts.

On December 19, in order to further optimize the urban environment, enhance urban functions, improve the quality of life, and promote a new round of urban and industrial development, Luzhi Town convened a work‑progress meeting on the “Four Major Rectification and Four Major Enhancement” initiatives for the town’s environment. Attending the meeting and making relevant arrangements were Mayor Gu Hongjian of the Luzhi Town People’s Government, Director Yang Sanyuan of the CPPCC Working Committee, Party Committee Member Wu Qiurong, Vice Mayors Hong Taosheng and Wang Zonglin, and Yu Weiming, Deputy General Manager of Chenghu Modern Science and Technology Ecological Agriculture Development Company. The meeting was chaired by Party Committee Member Chen Julin of the Luzhi Town Party Committee, with approximately 50 participants, including heads of relevant departments across the town and secretaries of villages (communities).

At the推进 meeting, Director Yang Sanyuan, Committee Member Wu Qiurong, Deputy Town Mayor Hong Taosheng, and Deputy Town Mayor Wang Zonglin each outlined specific plans for targeted remediation efforts addressing illegal parking, unauthorized operations, unlawful construction, environmental sanitation, and community‑level conditions. They clarified the division of responsibilities, guiding principles, objectives, implementation steps, and required measures under the “Four Major Remediations and Four Major Enhancements” initiative, thereby significantly strengthening the operational guidance for the town’s comprehensive campaign to improve urban environments through these four key areas.

Finally, Mayor Gu Hongjian delivered an important address. In his speech, Mayor Gu provided a comprehensive summary and outlined the town’s “Four Major Rectifications and Four Major Upgrades” initiative, underscored the requirements for ensuring the sustained effectiveness of these efforts, and articulated the guiding principle of “division of labor without division of responsibility, concerted cooperation, and collective wisdom and strength.” He also put forward three key points. First, we must further clarify the situation and strengthen our sense of responsibility and urgency in our work. Second, we need to set clear objectives and accurately identify the key priorities of the “Four Major Rectifications and Four Major Enhancements” initiative. Third, we must reinforce leadership to ensure that all tasks are effectively implemented.

Committee Member Chen Julin set forth requirements for implementing the spirit of this meeting. She urged all participating units and their responsible officials to earnestly carry out the meeting’s directives, promptly align their thinking, fully recognize the importance and necessity of the work at hand, emphasize the long-term effectiveness of implementation, and continuously consolidate the achievements of the special rectification campaign.

The four major environmental remediation and enhancement initiatives in Luzhi Town will be guided by the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In line with Wuzhong District’s overarching goals of building “Suzhou—A City of Mountains and Waters, Wuzhong—A Land of Culture” and ushering in the “Era of Taihu,” these efforts will remain firmly anchored in the town’s positioning as the “Eastern Bridgehead of Wuzhong.” With a focus on enhancing the satisfaction of residents and driven by the goal of creating the cleanest and most well‑kept urban environment, the initiatives will advance the “Second Entrepreneurship and Transformational Upgrading” at an even higher level, opening up new prospects for scientific development.
