Luzhi Town Held a Meeting on Enhancing Tourism Safety

On the afternoon of September 17, the Ancient Town Management Committee and the Town Comprehensive Governance Office jointly convened a meeting on enhancing tourism safety in Luzhi Town. The meeting was attended by 18 representatives from 16 departments, including the town’s safety supervision, quality supervision, culture and health, ethnic and religious affairs, police station, traffic police, health supervision, and tourism companies. The meeting was chaired by Zhu Xuexin, Vice Chairman of the Town People’s Congress.

The Tourism Promotion Enhancement Group of Luzhi Town’s comprehensive initiative to upgrade the tourism service sector has launched a special promotional campaign.

To actively support the comprehensive upgrading of the town’s tourism services, bolster the efforts to achieve 5A‑level status for the ancient town, and advance the development of a beautiful urban area, the Tourism Promotion Enhancement Group under the Townwide Comprehensive Upgrade Initiative for the Tourism Industry has officially launched a special publicity campaign aimed at elevating the entire town’s tourism sector.

Luzhi, known as the “First Town of Water Villages in China,” is one of the city’s 16 demonstration sites for beautiful‑town development. It is currently accelerating industrialization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization as it embarks on a new phase of “second‑stage entrepreneurship and transformative innovation.” On the afternoon of August 30, Jiang Hongkun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, conducted an inspection and field visit to Luzhi Town. Luzhi Town convened a meeting to advance the special initiative for building a “Beautiful Town,” focusing on the town’s suburban fringe and street‑side business operations.

On August 14, Shen Shannan, Chairman of the People’s Congress of Luzhi Town, and Wang Zonglin, Deputy Town Mayor, convened the principal heads of 15 departments—including the Ancient Town Management Committee, the Patriotic Health Office, the Water Resources Station, the Urban Management Brigade, and the Traffic Management Office—for a meeting to advance the special initiative on building “Beautiful Towns” in Luzhi Town, with a particular focus on the town’s suburban fringe and street‑side business operations.

On July 19, Suzhou City convened a citywide on-site conference on the construction of beautiful towns and villages (urban areas) in Luzhi Town. Attending the meeting were municipal leaders including Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Chen Zhenyi, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; and Vice Mayors Xu Huimin, Wang Guorong, Gu Haidong, and Zhou Wei, along with principal officials from the Municipal Agricultural Commission, the Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, the Planning Department, and the Urban Appearance and Municipal Services Administration. Also present were the principal and responsible leaders of the governments of all cities and districts, as well as relevant departments, together with approximately 130 participants, including the Party secretaries of the towns where the city’s 16 demonstration sites for beautiful town construction are located.
