Savor the Charm of Jiangnan on the Dragon Boat Festival

On the morning of June 23, the Luzhi Scenic Area hosted a unique Dragon Boat Festival event titled “Talent in Luzhi, ‘Zongzi’-Style Dragon Boat Festivities,” bringing together ten high‑caliber professional families. They boarded hand‑powered boats to glide into the ancient town of Luzhi, explored exhibition halls, played Lianxiang games, and crafted fragrant sachets, embarking on an engaging cultural journey that celebrated intangible heritage and savoring the distinctive charm of the Jiangnan Dragon Boat Festival.

Parent and child together stepped into the Water Town Women’s Costume Workshop, where they listened as master artisan Zhou Jinhai explained the intricate craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage of Luzhi’s traditional women’s attire. Guided by the instructor, they also tried their hand at making traditional buttons, enjoying a fun and engaging experience.

Check in at the Luzhi Water Town Women’s Costume Museum, where children and adults alike pick up colorful lianxiang sticks and, under the guidance of a teacher, learn to dance the lianxiang dance. Amid the crisp rhythmic taps and lively tempo, you can savor the unique charm of Luzhi’s water‑town heritage.

Visit the thousand-year-old Baosheng Temple and embark on a hands-on journey to craft fragrant sachets, enjoying the delights of DIY while receiving heartfelt wishes for peace and well-being during the Dragon Boat Festival.

At the event’s conclusion, everyone gathered beneath the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree for a group photo, capturing the timeless charm of the Jiangnan Dragon Boat Festival.
