As the Dragon Boat Festival holiday approaches, in order to further strengthen workplace safety at the Luzhi Ancient Town scenic area, ensure the continued stability of tourism‑related safety during the holiday, and foster a safe, peaceful, and joyful festive atmosphere, Luzhi Tourism Company, together with the Town’s Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau (covering safety supervision, fire safety, and food safety) and the Market Supervision Sub‑bureau, conducted a joint safety inspection on the afternoon of June 6.
The inspection team conducted on-site visits to several guesthouses, food and snack outlets, and food retail stores within the ancient town scenic area, focusing on compliance with principles of honest business practices, fire safety, food safety, and health management of staff. During the inspections, it was found that some establishments had issues such as failure to display operating licenses, expired or missing health certificates for employees, improper storage of food and raw materials, non‑compliance with sample‑retention requirements, unauthorized use of extension cords for charging, absence of smoke detectors, expired fire extinguishers, dry fire hydrants, and lack of fire hoses. Additionally, guesthouses on the second floor were found to lack escape ropes, and fire‑fighting equipment—including fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and escape masks—was improperly stored. Enforcement officers ordered these non‑compliant businesses to implement immediate corrective measures and required them to complete all necessary rectifications within a specified timeframe.
During the inspection, law enforcement officers combined enforcement with education, disseminating knowledge on food safety and fire prevention to business operators. They urged merchants to strengthen their awareness, firmly reinforce workplace safety measures, and ensure safe production. Moving forward, Luzhi Tourism Company will also collaborate with relevant town departments to conduct follow-up reviews of the issues and hazards identified during this inspection, ensuring that businesses implement corrective actions effectively and establish a closed-loop management system, thereby providing tourists with a safe and secure environment for travel and consumption.
