This June marks the 23rd National “Work Safety Month.” To thoroughly publicize and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on work safety, and to earnestly carry out the unified arrangements of the State Council, provincial, municipal, and district safety committees, the Luzhi Ancient Town Scenic Area has launched a series of “Work Safety Month” activities under the theme “Everyone Speaks About Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies—Keeping Lifelines Unobstructed.” These efforts aim to strengthen the implementation of work‑safety responsibilities, conduct comprehensive inspections and rectification of potential hazards, enhance the ability to identify and resolve issues, prevent and mitigate risks of safety accidents, and continuously consolidate the foundation for a safe and secure scenic area.
The scenic area has placed at the visitor center ten key promotional brochures on workplace safety and summer‑season safety, and is using electronic displays and televisions to broadcast safety slogans and fire‑safety public service announcements on a frequent loop. In addition, staff have been dispatched to the ancient town’s streets and alleys to distribute these safety handbooks to tourists, residents, and business owners, thereby disseminating knowledge of workplace safety that is closely tied to daily life, production, and operations. This effort aims to further enhance awareness and vigilance, firmly reinforcing the bottom line of workplace safety.
On the morning of June 23, the scenic area actively organized activities for “Safety Production Month,” conducting thorough self‑inspections on workplace safety and flood‑control measures. Inspections covered building safety, electrical and water usage, fire‑fighting equipment, visitor facilities, and gas‑related operations at various attractions, the cruise‑boat pier, riverbank revetments, and other subordinate assets. For any hazards or issues identified during these inspections, the relevant departments and the heads of subsidiary asset‑management units were instructed to implement immediate corrective actions and complete all remediation within a specified timeframe, resolutely eliminating safety risks and firmly safeguarding the safety perimeter to ensure the continued stability of the scenic area’s safety record.
On the morning of July 1, the scenic area organized its staff to conduct a fire safety emergency drill, disseminating knowledge on the proper use of firefighting equipment and enhancing their abilities in initial fire suppression, self-rescue, and safe evacuation. The exercise also honed their practical skills in responding to large-scale fires, ensuring that every employee remains vigilant about their safety responsibilities and is proficient in fire prevention measures and emergency preparedness.
Through the implementation of this “Work Safety Month” campaign, the scenic area has continuously strengthened its safety awareness, consolidated the foundations for safe development, and effectively enhanced its fire‑fighting and emergency rescue capabilities. These efforts have further tightened the work‑safety chain, ensuring a stable and improving safety situation throughout the area and laying a solid foundation for building a safe and secure scenic destination.
