Each has their own unique insights and takeaways.
Located at the confluence of five lakes and six waterways, Luzhi is a dazzling gem nurtured by the culture of Jiangnan’s water towns, renowned for its abundance of water, bridges, narrow lanes, ancient residences, and celebrated figures. The town is home to the Baosheng Temple Arhat Hall—part of the nation’s first batch of key cultural heritage sites—and to a rich array of intangible cultural heritage, including Luzhi’s traditional women’s attire, the Lianxiang performance, and the time-honored art of making Luzhi radishes.

Since ancient times, Luzhi has cherished culture and education, producing a steady stream of talented individuals and attracting a gathering of refined scholars. The late Tang poet Lu Guimeng once lived in seclusion here for an extended period. In 1917, Mr. Ye Shengtao came to Luzhi, launching educational reform and literary creation, and came to regard this place as his “second hometown.”
