On May 13, to further advance the development of the “Norms for Facilities and Services of Hand‑Rowed Boats in Jiangnan Water Towns,” leaders from the Suzhou Municipal Maritime Safety Administration, the district tourism bureau, the district quality supervision bureau, and other departments visited the Luzhi Scenic Area to provide guidance on its specific preparatory work. They were accompanied by Wu Qiurong, Chairman of the Town Federation of Trade Unions, and Zhou Xuezhong, General Manager of the tourism company.

The heads of various departments first heard a report from Zhou Xuezhong, General Manager of Luzhi Tourism Company, on the progress of establishing the “Standards for Hand‑Rowed Boat Facilities and Services in Jiangnan Water Towns,” and then conducted an on-site inspection of the hand‑rowed boat project at the scenic area. They fully commended the efforts and achievements of the Luzhi Scenic Area in developing these standards, and offered specific comments and recommendations for the next phase of work: while ensuring safety, the standards should also highlight distinctive service features; and while emphasizing the systematic and comprehensive nature of the regulations, they should be tailored to the site’s unique characteristics to ensure reasonableness and practicality.

Finally, the heads of all departments expressed their hope that the Luzhi Scenic Area will press ahead with renewed vigor, continue to uphold the spirit of hard work and perseverance, forge ahead with innovation, and strive to complete the standardization of hand‑rowed boats to a high standard.
