On January 12, the District Tourism Bureau convened a regular working meeting for A‑level scenic spots in Wuzhong District for the first quarter of 2018 at Luzhi Ancient Town. The meeting was attended by Director Mao Gang of the District Tourism Bureau, relevant supervising officials, heads of responsible departments, and principal representatives from each A‑level scenic spot.
The meeting was divided into two phases. In the first phase, participants visited and studied the tourist toilets, the monitoring and command center, as well as street‑level sanitation and security operations in Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, Kunshan City. Officials from the Kunshan Municipal Tourism Bureau and Zhouzhuang Ancient Town shared their experiences in implementing long‑term management practices for the scenic area, while representatives from each site engaged in on‑site Q&A and mutual exchanges. In the second phase, the Wuzhong District held its regular first‑quarter 2018 working meeting for A‑level scenic areas. First, Luzhi Tourism Company presented best practices in long‑term management; subsequently, each 5A‑rated scenic spot reported on its progress since the previous quarter’s meeting, with particular emphasis on advancing long‑term management, upgrading signage, and carrying out the “toilet revolution.” The District Tourism Bureau then summarized the district’s performance in scenic‑area management during the preceding quarter and outlined plans for the next. Finally, Director Mao Gang delivered a key address, stressing three priorities: first, safeguarding the reputation of A‑level designations by ensuring that long‑term management measures are effectively implemented and by strengthening oversight mechanisms; second, raising awareness and promptly addressing issues identified in provincial inspection reports through swift and proactive corrective actions; and third, attaching the highest level of importance to this work, assigning clear responsibilities to specific departments and personnel to ensure successful compliance with national 5A re‑inspections, assessments, and unannounced audits.
This quarterly working meeting for A‑level scenic areas thoroughly reviewed and shared exemplary practices in long-term management, helping each site identify shortcomings in its internal operations. It played a crucial role in enabling all scenic areas to strengthen and refine their long-term management systems, enhance service quality, and boost visitor satisfaction in the new year—providing valuable insights, broadening perspectives, and inspiring innovative measures.
