Never forget history; forge ahead with determination. On April 27–28, the Luzhi Ancient Town Scenic Area organized a Party‑day event themed “Love Suzhou, Joyfully Dedicate” to mark the 70th anniversary of Suzhou’s liberation.
On April 27, 1949, Suzhou was liberated. During this year’s commemorative events, the Luzhi Tourism Party Branch organized a themed Party Day activity titled “Love Suzhou, Enjoy Giving,” with all party members uniformly wearing their Party badges to participate. The program included segments such as leaving messages for Suzhou, creating short videos in the Suzhou dialect, and providing medical services. Party members and volunteers also carried out volunteer work, including maintaining order and promoting civility. Over the two days, at the visitor center lobby, participants signed and left messages on a backdrop wall, inscribing fervent sentiments like “Never forget our original aspiration, always keep our mission in mind,” “The success of the revolution was hard-won—let us cherish it all the more,” and “Love Suzhou, love Luzhi,” thereby commemorating the history of Suzhou’s liberation and expressing their deep affection for the motherland and for Suzhou itself. After taking photos to share on social media or recording a short video in the Suzhou dialect, attendees could also receive a small cultural‑creative gift—a “Duan Duan Gift”—provided by the scenic area. At the visitor information desk, volunteers warmly welcomed tourists from all over, patiently answering their questions. In a corner of the Lüduan Rest Stop, Dr. Lu Shaorong from the scenic area’s medical clinic, acting as a volunteer, offered free blood pressure checks to those who came upon hearing the news, carefully explaining important precautions. At the entrance to the scenic‑area parking lot, Party members Zhang Rongfei, Zhao Lihui, and others directed and guided tourist vehicles in and out, advocating for orderly and proper parking. Meanwhile, at the cruise‑boat dock, Party members Luo Jianlin, Yuan Xueyuan, and others assisted boatmen with arranging vessels, ensuring that the boats docked safely.
During this themed Party Day activity, the branch’s members recalled the revolutionary journey and carried forward the revolutionary spirit. Grounded in their respective posts, they demonstrated a spirit of dedication, provided warm and attentive service, and fully exemplified the vanguard role of Party members, earning unanimous praise from the general public and tourists alike.
