In accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and the spirit of his key instructions and directives on the thematic education campaign to “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind,” and in line with the unified arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the specific requirements of the provincial, municipal, and district Party committees, the Luxi Tourism Party Branch convened a special organizational life meeting and a democratic evaluation of Party members on December 2. All members of the branch attended, and Wang Xiaogang, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, was present to deliver comments.

The meeting was held in two phases. In the first phase, the Tourism Party Branch convened a special organizational life meeting, which featured four main components: First, Comrade Gu Hui, deputy secretary of the branch, reported on the branch’s work for 2019 on behalf of the branch leadership team, presenting a detailed self‑examination and analysis report focusing on issues such as organizing thematic education, strengthening Party member education and management, connecting with and serving the masses, and improving work style. Second, Comrade Gu Hui took the lead in delivering a personal self‑criticism, after which other members of the leadership team raised questions and offered suggestions for improvement; Comrade Gu Hui responded to these comments. The remaining members of the leadership team then followed this procedure, conducting their own self‑examinations one by one. Third, other Party members, drawing on their review of selected excerpts from Xi Jinping’s “Essential Expositions on Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind,” as well as their identification and rectification of problems and their efforts to play a pioneering and exemplary role, engaged in criticism and self‑criticism in turn. Fourth, Comrade Wang Xiaogang, the town official in charge, provided commentary, noting that the meeting had fostered an open and candid atmosphere, with participants boldly addressing shortcomings and offering targeted measures for improvement. This approach effectively served to remind one another, advance work, and strengthen unity, largely achieving the intended outcomes. However, some areas for improvement were also identified, and several requirements were put forward for the next steps of the Tourism Party Branch: First, strengthen theoretical grounding, deepen the study and implementation of the new thought, maintain alignment with central directives, and remain steadfast in upholding ideals and convictions; second, pursue both establishing new norms and breaking old ones, achieving greater results in implementing corrective measures, acting promptly and making immediate corrections, and persistently addressing outstanding issues; third, reinforce institutional development to consolidate and expand the achievements of the thematic education campaign; and fourth, ensure thorough summarization and closure, so that the thematic education campaign is carried out successfully from beginning to end.

In the second phase, democratic evaluations of Party members were carried out. This involved two main components: first, assessing the branch’s work and conduct, with completion of the “Democratic Evaluation Form for the Branch Leadership Team”; second, conducting democratic evaluations of individual Party members, using the “Democratic Assessment Form for Party Members.” Following the meeting, the branch leadership team also synthesized information on each member’s participation in the thematic education campaign and the results of the democratic assessments to formulate evaluation opinions for every Party member.
