The Party Branch of Luzhi Tourism Company held its July themed Party Day activity.

To strengthen Party history study and education and enhance Party spirit cultivation, the Party branch of Luzhi Tourism Company held its July themed Party Day activity on the afternoon of July 16. All members of the branch, prospective Party members, and active candidates for Party membership attended, with the event chaired by Hu Meizhen, Secretary of the Party branch.

At the meeting, Secretary Hu Meizhen first conveyed the spirit of the Party Town Committee and Government’s document on the “July Themed Party Day.” Following this, attendees watched the film “The Eight Hundred,” which recounts how, in the final stages of the Battle of Shanghai in 1937, the intense fighting between Chinese and Japanese forces had already lasted three months, with Shanghai on the brink of falling. Under the command of Deputy Regimental Commander Xie Jinyuan of the 524th Regiment, 262nd Brigade, 88th Division, more than 420 soldiers held fast to the last line of defense, remaining behind at the Sihang Warehouse in Shanghai. Separated from the International Concession by a single river, their stand became an unprecedented spectacle—though numbering only four hundred, they publicly claimed to be eight hundred. The “Eight Hundred Heroes” were ordered to defend Zhabei in Shanghai, engaging in fierce combat at the Sihang Warehouse along the Suzhou River for four days, before finally receiving orders on October 30 to withdraw into the British Concession.

After watching the film, members of the Party branch unanimously expressed that they were deeply moved by the patriotic spirit depicted, which strengthened their understanding of their original aspirations and mission. Moving forward, they pledged to take the “Eight Hundred Heroes” as an example, embodying a spirit of dedication in their everyday work, and contributing their wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of Luzhi’s tourism industry.
